Which Internet speed should I choose?
The right speed mainly depends on how many people use the connection and what they use it for. For everyday use in a household of 1 to 3 people, 1 Gbit/s is usually enough. For families, working from home, 4K streaming and several devices connected at once, 2 Gbit/s is more comfortable. Speeds above 2 Gbit/s are especially useful for highly connected households, for transferring large files and for users who want the fastest speed available.
Which Wi-Fi should I choose: Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 7?
Wi-Fi 6 already performs very well for most households. It handles connected devices better, offers high speeds and gives a more stable connection. Wi-Fi 7 goes further, with even higher performance and more capacity for very demanding uses. For everyday use, Wi-Fi 6 is usually enough. If you have an ultra-fast connection or many recent devices, or if you want your setup to stay up to date for years to come, Wi-Fi 7 can be a particularly good choice.
I need Internet access right away
Need Internet before your fibre connection is installed? Luxembourg Online can lend you a 4G solution straight away, so you stay connected until your Internet access is activated.
How does fibre installation work?
If your home isn’t ready for a fibre connection yet, we will first book an appointment to get it ready. During this visit, we run the fibre from where it enters the building to your home and install a fibre optic socket. At the installation appointment, our technician will install the modem and the TV decoder (if you chose this service). The technician will run tests to check that everything works, including Wi-Fi reception, to make sure the installation meets your needs.
How much does installation cost?
Activation and installation are free for every new connection. You only pay the technician’s travel costs. If the fibre doesn’t yet reach your home, we also offer a cabling package with 2 hours of work and 50 metres of fibre. This is enough for the vast majority of homes.
Can I change my plan later?
Yes. Your needs can change, and your Internet subscription can change with them. For example, you can move to a higher speed if you use the Internet more or need better performance. Just contact our team to check which offers are available and which conditions apply to your subscription.
What happens if I move house?
Moving within Luxembourg? Luxembourg Online can help you transfer your connection to your new home. We check whether our services are available at your new address and explain how to transfer your subscription. Please let us know well in advance so we can set up your new connection in the best possible conditions.
