By signing that contract, you entrust your fixed line as well as its subscription to Luxembourg Online and are going to receive one only invoice from Luxembourg Online for your ADSL, your fixed line and your phone calls.

"Le débit de synchronisation effectif dépend de la longueur de la boucle locale et de la situation technique, notamment au niveau des CPE, des DSLAM et du back-bone d'agrégation
Une intervention technique sur un raccordement spécifique ne peut être acceptée que si les seuils inférieurs des débits de synchronisation indiqués ci-avant, ne sont pas respectés.
Au niveau de la réalisation technique sont utilisés aujourd'hui plusieurs types de concentrateurs dans le réseau. Une partie de ses concentrateurs est limitée d'une certaine bande passante totale, dont l'utilisation est partagée par les clients actifs y connectés. ( Pour tous les autres concentrateurs, la configuration des équipements à l'heure actuelle permet d'offrir à 80% des clients un débit de synchronisation assez élevé et à 20% un débit de synchronisation plus au moins maximal. )
Ces indications reflètent la situation actuelle du réseau. Des investissements continuels sont effectués dans l'infrastructure de sorte que les débits et la qualité des services vont connaître une amélioration continue dans le future.
Dépendant du type de chipset utilisé dans certains modems/routeurs commercialisés, des problèmes de synchronisation peuvent apparaître, ayant comme conséquence une limitation du débit à un niveau inférieur à 8 Mbps pour garantir une synchronisation stable."

-the possibility to surf and make phone calls at the same time. The phone line is never busy while surfing the Internet.

Maximum downstream (i.e. from the net to the user) varies according to the product from 2 Mbit/s to 15 Mbit/s.

The "bit" is the smallest information unit used by the computer, its value is 0 or 1.
1 octet = 1 byte = 8 bit
1 ko = 1 kilo-octet = 1024 octet
1 kbps = 1 kilo-bit per second = 1000 bit per second
1 ko/s = 1 kilo-octet per second = 8000 bit per second = 8 kbps
1 Mbps = 1 Mega-bit per second = 1000000 bit per second
Generally, Microsoft exploitation systems show the flow in ko/s during the download. A flow of 256 kbps corresponds to approximately 32 ko/s.

What are the filters for ? |
|
During the installation of ADSL.INTERNET.LU, filters are used.
The task of a filter is to separate the low frequency for voice from the high frequencys used for ADSL.
It's essential to place a filter on every mural catch on which there is connected any kind of telephone equipment (fax, phone or responder). If not you are risking high disturbances on the telephone communications and interferences with the data traffic.
It's disadvised to use more than 3 phones on one same line, because that causes a weakenîng of the line signal.

Can I make the installation myself ? |
|
The line preparation and installation of the accessories bound directly to the line (splitter...) of your home may in certain cases be realized by yourself by using the Self-Install Kit. You only have to choose "to do the installation myself by using the Self-Install Kit" in the "installation type" part on the registration form. After reception of your registration we check if the installation with the Self-Install Kit is possible at your address. If due to technical reasons a specialized team has to do the installation, our customer service is going to contact you to fix an installation date.

Can I freely choose the modem ? |
|
You can choose and get your modem/router by yourself. If you don't take one of the modems/routers recommended by Luxembourg Online, Luxembourg Online declines all responsibility with respect to the optimal operation of the service. In case of disturbances caused by the aforementionned modem/router on the network of Luxembourg Online or the network of the local operator, the customer could be made responsible.

If you are currently subscribing to a LuxDSL service at EPT, i.e. you already paid an installation and are using the service LuxDSL, you have the possibility to change from your LuxDSL subscription to the ADSL.INTERNET.LU service of Luxembourg Online without new installation costs. To subscribe to ADSL.INTERNET.LU, you only have to fill out the registration form mark the case « to change from another provider to Luxembourg Online» in the « Installation type » part.

Fast Path is a parameter reducing the error control to accelerate the transfers (adapted to online gaming).

What is "Fair Use" ? |
|
Using ADSL.INTERNET.LU brings with it a "Fair Use" policy. This policy doesn't define any download limits for the FLAT services, but allows Luxembourg Online to intervene in the case a user downloads substantially more than the average user. So you can download a certain amount of data as long as your usage over the months doesn't exceed substantially the average usage of the other users.

What's a USB port ? |
|
USB means Universal Serial BUS.
It's a kind of universal connector. USB allows to connect peripherals to your computer without reinitializing and reconfiguration. To connect a USB peripheral, you only have to plug your connector to your computer.
The computer will automatically detect the peripheral and configure the necessary software.

Yes, you'll always be able to use a classic modem if you plug it behind a filtre.

What's happening if I'm moving houses ? |

If you move to a territory covered by ADSL.INTERNET.LU, your subscription stays valid. If that's not the case, your contract will be terminated after the contractual cancellation period.

Is there a minimum duration ? |
